Provider Application

  • All Providers must be available from 7 am to 6 pm
  • In order to be approved as a home child care provider, individuals interested must meet the following requirements:
    1. The applicant must be 18 years of age.
    2. The applicant must enjoy working with children.
    3. The applicant must provide two (2) references excluding family members.
    4. A Police Vulnerable Sector check will need to be submitted for anyone residing or regularly in the home that is over the age of 18 years. Anyone living in Canada for less than one (1) year will be expected to also have an ink fingerprint completed to verify their background check in their country of origin. The agency will provide the necessary forms for this.
    5. A Consent to the Release of Information will need to be signed by the applicant, spouse and for anyone residing in the home that is over the age of 18 years.
    6. Prior to operating the applicant must complete a full medical signed by a physician indicating that you are capable to care for children.
    7. The applicant must provide a smoke free environment at all times whether children are present or not.
    8. The applicant will also be required to complete a standard first aid training course before accepting children into your home. This cost can also be used as a tax deduction.
    9. The applicant will be expected to have a supply of play materials and furnishings, a small investment may be required on your part. It would be our expectation that every home child care be outfitted with toys, gates and appropriate child-sized furnishings to meet the children’s needs.
